Welcome to Fort Hill Community School
Our school is built inside a 19 acre site of Winklebury Camp - an Iron Age hill fort built approximately 3000 years ago. The historical significance of 'The Winklebury Ring' is encapsulated in the School's award-winning design, which emulates a Roman Villa with its red bricks, tiled roofs and courtyards.
Whilst our roots are firmly planted in an ancient and prestigious past, we are a modern and ambitious school recently awarded 'International School' status as a result of our curriculum links across the globe.
Fort Hill is a forward thinking school whose many developments over the last 5 years have received national publicity.
Visitors unanimously comment on the warm, welcoming atmosphere and ethos and the purposeful and positive relationship between staff and students. As one Local Authority visitor commented last year; "When you walk into this school, it glows".
I am immensely proud to be Headteacher of Fort Hill Community School, whose aim is to provide an excellent education for our students within a Community where every individual is recognised, cared for and valued. The staff’s commitment to the students and their relentless drive and professionalism make the School an exciting and happy place in which to work. The strong teamwork permeates every aspect of our daily practice. Our open and supportive relationships with parents ensure our vision and expectations are shared.
